Kingsdown September 2021

The Wiltshire based MLCCC (Mid Life Crisis Cycling Club) started in 2011 as a group of enthusiastic friends who thought it was a good idea to cycle 130 miles to North Devon to raise money for charity!

After several months of training, the seventeen riders completed the ride in July 2012 and raised an amazing £10,000 for ten local and national charities.

Since then the group have met up regularly for short Sunday rides, and longer whole weekend rides, including 120 miles to Ross On Wye and back in July 2013, followed, each year, by Bournemouth, Abergavenny, the Cotswolds, Portsmouth, Somerset, and back to North Devon in 2019.

Most of the group don’t consider themselves as serious riders, with many only getting back into cycling again after years of no cycling at all.

The positives of getting back on the bike, and enjoying the experience with so many great people has been inspiring.

Following a meal with the group in April 2014 the name Mid-Life Crisis Cycling Club was agreed, and more rides are being planned for the future.  Regular rides often take place on Sunday mornings, meeting between 8 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. and starting in Chippenham. Get in touch if you’d like to join us.
